Hiking is one the biggest attractions here in Crested Butte. Get outside, and explore the West Elk Mountains on countless miles of trails – some of which start right from the San Mortiz!
Head up to Judd Falls, just past the Rocky Mountain Biological Laboratory on Gothic. It’s not much work, and it pays off with a great waterfall view.
Try another easy hike with the Woods Walk off Kebler Pass, a local favorite. Enjoy awesome views of Mt. Crested Butte and Peanut Lake.
For beautiful aspen groves and Elk Mountain views, check out Snodgrass Mountain. The trailhead is just up the road from San Moritz, about three miles from our location.
Don’t forget to summit Mt. Crested Butte! It’s just a short, steep hike after a ride up the Silver Queen lift from the base area.
Soak in the sun, the amazing views, and the wildflowers. Keep any eye out for the abundant wildlife. Who knows what you’ll find on your next adventure into the mountains.
